President’s Report

Waiheke Choral Society 2025

This end of year report is for the AGM to be held on 10 March 2026 in the Waiheke musical museum at 7 pm.

The choir continues to give enjoyment to those who sing and those who listen.

We are all very lucky to have Anne as our hard working and capable musical director and Caroline as our pianist. Both are long serving to us as choir members, and make our Tuesdays fun.

We have had two concerts this last year, midyear and Christmas and we shall continue this format. However, in 2026 we shall not be performing at Rocky Bay mid year, as attendance was down on previous years.

Performances in 2026 will be
     1) 31st May at St Peter’s Church Oneroa
     2) 6th December at St Peter’s Church Oneroa

During the year a singing coaching weekend was held by arrangement with Vicki. I could not attend, but those who did enjoyed it. I have had contact from another person re a workshop for singing, Anna van Riel. She suggests 24/26 April as a time she would be able to run a workshop for us. If anybody is interested then please let me know.

Last year Anne suggested we should occasionally have a sing-along Tuesday to give her the odd Tuesday off. We have not done that so far. Perhaps we need to action this idea?

I enjoy our choir and hope everyone else does. We all appreciate the energy put in, making it work. Effort by Gavin and Mark especially, along with those previously mentioned, and all the other Committee members.

Also thank-you to all choir members who come and love singing in harmony.

May we continue the tradition of this Choir for many years to come! Let’s all see if we can encourage some new members to join us as well.
